My heart longs to connect with yours ~ As you know I flourish when we are face to face yet the written word is also powerful… This last year has been one of personal adjustment and growth for me. After returning from Spain last summer, I began to divide my efforts in more areas such as networking with Edge Project and building up my own business to financially sustain myself.
My Health
On a personal level, I have been able to heal from my heart condition. My cardiologist has said my heart and health are stronger and she has given me the report that I am 80% restored. I just need to take precaution and live simply. This path of pain and brokenness has been a journey that I am grateful for as I find most of my peace with God and my family. Therefore much of my time is divided with my four daughters, two grandchildren, husband, and serving others.
EDGE On Campus
Edge Project stateside has been busting out! We have been able to bring awareness of our program to more colleges and universities all over Southern California. Doors have opened on so many fronts as schools find out about our mission and are not only allowing us to share with the students, but are actively promoting our summer programs and internships. As director, I am traveling most weeks up and down the coast meeting with students, university directors, training and mentoring those who are like minded. While every life is being transformed through the presence of God, we are learning day to day how to collaborate with the Master Artist allowing Him to do what He does best. The mentorship program has grown and now we have seven interns on our team.
Dancing
Throughout the years of living in Europe on the mission field, I had the opportunity to launch my teaching career through dance and it continues to be a privilege to use this gift to teach others the joy of expression and bring glory to Christ while moving on the dance floor.
For the past 5 years I have been teaching Ballroom and Swing dance classes at the Encinitas YMCA. And currently I teach at a variety of places, including a senior center. I teach children, teens, adults, and seniors.
Pearls For Life; Family Yoga
I have also begun teaching speciality yoga classes at a private studio, the YMCA, and a few local libraries. I created my own curriculum that focuses on yoga within the family design of bonding and building the relationship between parent and child.
Pearls For Life; Family Yoga is my new side business where I teach family yoga classes, restorative yoga, and offer Childbirth Education with a variety of services to families who want me to assist them in their birth process. This has provided wonderful opportunities to reach out to local families and teach them the practice of connection that builds their bodies, minds and spirits. This is truly fulfilling for me and sustaining at the same time. While strengthening the family unit has always been vital to who I am, I have been able to serve as a licensed Birth Doula for a number of births over the past year. To see life at its first stages, through pregnancy then onto birth and beyond, is a tremendous blessing & honor for me.
Mentoring
Continuing the journey of the human experience on through adolescence and beyond is a privilege as I mentor and help people in their 20′s & 30′s find their creative leanings while expressing them to the glory of God. Therefore this is a thread I see God weaving through my life. He continues to weave my tapestry with all the vivid colors of myexperiences, friendships and creative expressions. It is His Hand that guides the paintbrush as I choose the colors on my canvas of life. For this I am so grateful.
Now I am sustaining myself through these opportunities to work and volunteer my time as I hold onto to the faithful commitment to direct Edge Project. As you know it is my hearts passion to mentor people organically in the loving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Thank you to every one of you who have faithfully stood beside me all these years. This summer begins our 8thyear as Edge Project in Spain and we pray that as we collaborate with God, He will only build upon the incredible work He has founded.
