Moments That Last

If you follow our blog or receive our emails or have heard about Edge Project, you know that it is a cross- cultural experience rooted in faith. The thing about spiritual experiences is, although they should make in us a deep impression, they are often fleeting. We get those moments of God, or some revelation or a glimpse of ourselves or God’s love and poof! it passes and we are left longing for it.

Edge is something different.

We have those moments, but the Edge experience changes us.

Edgies share in their own words how they have seen God move in them personally.

“I have been able to see God in a more personal way. It’s not like I didn’t before, but I have been able to learn from him and the way he acts, helping me understand him better.” Andrés Gallor

It has been a really enriching time of living in a community that is loving, accepting and genuine. I have also been learning a lot about God’s timing and the way that he continues to challenge and push me. I’ve also learned a lot about how God talks to me. One of the biggest things that God has been pressing me to do is to love people more deeply. When God puts someone on my heart I know that I should pray for them. If I pray for someone that means I have to care about them and love them as hard as that may be. I think the best way to love someone is allow God to love them through you. God is our unending source of love and we just have to pour that love out to those around us. I’ve learned to love the people that God has placed in my life for that season. I’ve also learned how to be comfortable with the idea that God puts uncomfortable situations in my life so that I would be challenged and learn to be obedient and open. One of the most healing things about this experience is learning what brotherly love looks like. I don’t have a good relationship with my brother and that relationship has damaged my perception of what it looks like for a guy to love me like an older brother. I am so grateful to have gotten to know the guys on this team and learn to trust them.” Catherine Li
